Manchester United was very quiet in the January transfer window, but that doesn't seem like it'll be the case when it comes to the summer. Red Devils boss Ralf Rangnick recently spoke on the club's plans for the next window, revealing they will be certainly looking to sign a young center-forward with Edinson Cavani's contract expiring and Cristiano Ronaldo not exactly loving life at Old Trafford.

Via United Report:

“This is obvious. Edinson’s [Cavani] contract is running out in the summer and the club needs the best possible centre forward. This is an obvious one. I think everyone is aware of that.”

Manchester United was very briefly linked to Erling Haaland, but he's also garnering the interest of literally every European giant. It's unknown who they could sign, but chances are Cavani departs and potentially goes back to South America to finish out his career. As for Cristiano, he came on as a substitute the other day against Burnley and stormed off the field at the final whistle following a disappointing draw. If the Red Devils finish outside of a Champions League spot, it would not be surprising to see the 37-year-old leave once again.

That being said, Manchester United undoubtedly needs some more firepower in the final third. Ronaldo hasn't scored in five games, his longest dry spell since 2010. Goals simply aren't being scored at the rate necessary for the Red Devils. By the time June rolls around, there will definitely be lots of options to bring in. It will be interesting to see what United decides.
