Manchester United hit a new low Saturday, losing 4-1 to Watford. Watford was at the bottom of the table and potentially in danger of being relegated at season's end. Yet, they crushed the Red Devils.

That prompted the team to fire manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Fans had been calling for his firing for quite some time, but especially of late as the Red Devils hadn't just been losing, but losing badly. They do not even look competitive on the pitch.

Manchester United has now been out scored 17-7 in their last seven English Premier League matches, including a 5-nil shellacking by Liverpool.

There had been talks about this firing being inevitable, and the team already looking elsewhere. Reportedly the club was in talks with football great Zinedine Zidane.

Following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's firing, former Manchester United great Gary Neville chimed in on the subject. He did not mince words, leaving Solskjaer in his wake, as reported by Karl Batungbacal from the International Business Times.

“Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer] cannot complain. He has been given three years. He has been backed in the transfer market. David Moyes was given eight months and kicked out. I don't think Ole can complain about the time that he has been given and the money that he has been afforded. I don't think he can complain about the players delivered to him,”

Whoever the club ends up hiring to take Solskjaer's place as manager has their work cut out for them. They sit 8th in the table, and their next two matches are against Chelsea and Arsenal, who are first and fifth respectively. Manchester United will have to turn things around quickly. Otherwise, they might not even qualify for the Europa League, never mind Champions League next season.
