Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer announces that Marcus Rashford could make his season debut this Saturday against Leicester City.

Marcus Rashford has been dealing with a shoulder issue since November 2020, and after being away from action since August due to surgery on the said shoulder, Rashford has been included in the United squad that travels to King Power Stadium this Saturday.

However, Solskjaer can't confirm if the English forward will be starting from the get-go or if he'll be coming off the bench — though the latter seems more likely for injury protocol purposes.

Via Mark Walker of PA Sport:

“He’s in the squad, yes. If he’s going to start or not, I can’t tell you now because it wouldn’t be right.”

He adds that Rashford has looked brilliant all week, “But he’s worked really hard throughout the whole lay-off and he’s been bright this week. He had a 60-minute involvement behind closed doors last week, so he’s fit and raring to go.”

Rashford's been itching to make his season debut for the Red Devils as he hasn't appeared for United since last season's Europa League final against Villareal CF. Moreover, his last competitive appearance before tending to his injury came at the Euro 2020 final against Italy, where he came on as a late substitute for Jamie Vardy.

Manchester United fans will be keen to see what Rashford could do in this newly rejuvenated squad alongside new summer transfers Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, and Raphael Varane.
