Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has weighed in on Mason Greenwood's game.

After scoring Manchester United‘s only goal in their UEFA Champions League final group stage match against Young Boys, Mason Greenwood has earned the trust of his manager Ralf Rangnick.

According to the Manchester United boss, Greenwood already has the talent and versatility. However, the young striker needs to be more “athletic” and Rangnick assures that he and the club will be there to help him with that.

“Still, it's about continuity, he has to develop physically but technically, for his age, he is a great player,” Rangnick said of Greenwood via Manchester Evening News. “My job is to develop him, to make an athlete out of him, and if he manages to do that can be a regular player for this club.”

“Sometimes he looks a bit not on an athletic level,” the manager further assessed. “I think we have to develop him there physically, but technically all the things he can do with the ball are outstanding. I am not so much worried about his technical level. We need to develop him physically and mentally and if we manage to do that he can become a regular player and an invaluable player for our club in the future.”

Greenwood introduced himself to Rangnick early in th game by hitting the back of the net on the ninth minute. To date, the 19-year-old already has five goals in 15 matches across all competitions for Manchester United, and is expected to be featured in the club's succeeding games once again.
