Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has addressed the situation of Anthony Martial head on.

Aside from Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial has also been one of the controversial players whose future at Manchester United is deemed uncertain.

Martial's agent, Philippe Lamboley, had claimed this weekend that his client is yearning to leave Old Trafford and would “speak to the club soon” about the matter.

Quizzed to share his honest take on the striker, club boss Ralf Rangnick revealed that Martial has not spoken to him yet. More importantly, should the player decides to, Rangnick wants him to do it personally and not through his agent or the media.

“I don’t communicate with agents via the media and press,” Rangnick said via Manchester Evening News. “The player [Martial] hasn’t spoken with me or us about it.”

“After the final training session before the Crystal Palace game, after having trained with team, he informed the doctor and the medical department that he would not be available because the pain in his knee is too big,” he divulged. “We have to wait and see. Maybe he can train again [on Sunday] but I have to speak to the doctor first. To be honest, what his agent says via the media is not of that much interest to me.”

“If he really has the wish to go to another club it should be the player who informs either the board or myself,” the manager added. “I have never spoken about a player via the media and via agents.”

This past two seasons, Martial has not been significant to Manchester United. He seemed to have lost his mojo and has only scored one goal to his name this season.
