A former Manchester United midfielder disagrees with Jurgen Klopp's recent hailing of Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah as the best player in the world.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has recently become the subject of several discussions in the sport following his bold claim about Mohamed Salah.

It can be recalled that after Liverpool’s insane 5-0 thumping of Watford on Friday, Klopp heaped praise on Salah and appointed the Egyptian forward as the “best” there is.

However, former Manchester United journeyman Kleberson doesn’t have the same take on the matter.

According to Kleberson, though Salah has been exceptional for Liverpool in recent times, he is baffled by what metric Klopp used to come up with such a bizarre comment.

“Mohamed Salah isn’t the best player in the world, but he’s been consistently brilliant. For a long time now, he’s played excellent football,” the Brazilian told PaddyPower. “He certainly isn’t a one season wonder and I can understand why Jürgen Klopp called him the best in Europe. Things are going well for Salah, but he’s not the best player in the world right now.”

Moreover, the Manchester United “flop” further reckoned that Salah still hasn't reach the level of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Neymar yet.

“For me, it’s tough to say who is the world’s best player because I measure it by those who play well for club and country,” the ex-Manchester United attacker explained. “Football has changed a lot. For many years, we had Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, and sometimes Neymar, but there's no one who has shown more than they have.”
