World champion, boxing legend, and Filipino senator Manny “PacMan” Pacquiao is going to star in his very own video game.

The game, titled Fighting Pride: The Manny Pacquiao Saga, features the boxing icon's rise to stardom. The game will feature three modes: historical mode, player-versus-player mode, and a story mode which follows his rise from local boxing circles in the Philippines to his world titles in eight weight divisions.

Fighting Pride: The Manny Pacquiao Saga is a mobile game that began development in 2017 by Ranida Games and licensed by OMG Inc. OMG Inc's president Mike Ochosa says about the game's inspiration:

“His story is compelling as well as inspiring. What better way to impart that sentiment to the world than through a mobile game app?”

A trailer for the game released last month revealed that Fighting Pride: The Manny Pacquiao Saga is coming to mobile devices in 2021.

The game will launch with 100 stages across four chapters, with more stages arriving in future updates.

Fighting Champion

Manny Pacquiao is a world-renowned boxer, considered by many as one of the best. He's the only professional boxer who has ever won world titles across eight weight divisions. He debuted in 1995 at the age of 16 as a junior flyweight, and has since fought in classic boxing matches with other legends such as Juan Manuel Marquez, Érik Morales, and Floyd Mayweather Jr. He currently holds the WBA (Super) welterweight title, which he won from Keith Thurman on July 2019. This match marked Thurman's first loss, and was Pacquiao's latest match, putting his record at 62–7–2.

Interestingly, this mobile game won't be the first time Pacquiao will be appearing on a video game. As a professional boxer, he has appeared multiple times in the Fight Night series of video games. However, this will be the first-ever game to feature the boxer as its main subject.
