As it seems, Marias Sharapova cannot do without sports.

After her two-year suspension from any tennis activity due to testing positive for illegal substance Meldonium, she finds new ways to stay relevant and close to the business of sport.

She was in the country not for the US Open tournament which she can't compete in, but because she was given the chance to have a three-day internship across the NBA and meet quite a few of the league's executives, including commissioner Adam Silver, according to Marc Berman of the New York Post.

“She took part in many of our department meetings to learn about the NBA operations,” Silver spokesman Mike Bass told the Post. “She's very smart, incredibly inquisitive about our process and initiatives.”

She even posted a picture on Twitter.

Interesting fact. The NBA will be adding Meldonium to the list of illegal substances for the upcoming season which means we wont have the chance to see Maria Sharapova on a basketball court either.
