Heading into the 2017 NBA Draft, Washington point guard Markelle Fultz has been regarded as easily one of the top talents in this year's class.

With that in mind, Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical is reporting that Fultz has inked a multi-year endorsement deal with Nike.

It was only a matter of time before Fultz was going to agree to a deal with a major shoe company. This has become customary around the NBA draft as the top prospects typically signs contracts with top companies like Nike, Under Armour, or Adidas.

Nike has worked out deals with the last two first overall picks in the draft in Ben Simmons, who was taken by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2016 and Karl-Anthony Towns, who was taken by the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2015. Prior to that, Andrew Wiggins, who was the top selection in the 2014 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers, signed with Adidas.

Although there has yet to be any clarity if Fultz will be chosen at the No.1 spot, it's clear that Nike views him as being one of the top picks in this year's draft. He has already worked out for both the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers.

Fultz is coming off a highly productive freshman campaign that saw him average 23.2 points on 47.6 percent shooting from the field and 41.3 percent from 3-point range along with 5.9 assists and 5.7 rebounds. He also became the first freshman since LaDrell Whitehead in the 1994-95 season to average at least 20.0 points, 5.0 assists, and 5.0 rebounds per game.
