It only gets better for the Philadelphia 76ers.

After dwelling in rock-bottom for years, there was no way to go but up for the Sixers, and the way they began the upward tick in their process last season exceeded expectations, thanks to big man sensation Joel Embiid.

A huge leap is one again expected from Philadelphia as Embiid and Dario Saric will be welcoming Ben Simmons and Markelle Fultz to their fold next season, establishing a rock solid young core.

With a surging momentum and a watered-down Eastern Conference, the universe is paving the way for the Sixers to once again pull off a shocker, and this year’s top overall pick in Fultz is echoing the sentiments of their fans when it comes to how they will fare in 2017-18.

“We’re going to be in the playoffs this year, and I think everybody is willing to put forth their best effort and listen to the coaches and listen to the bench,” Fultz told CSNPhilly at Sixers’ day camp at Valley Forge Military Academy.

“We’ve got to just do whatever it takes to get there. That’s practicing even harder, that’s doing extra work in the gym by ourselves, I mean, we’re going to do whatever it takes.”

They won 28 games last year, all while having a part-time go-to-guy in Joel Embiid who was also shut down later in the season. Now, Philadelphia has a couple of much-needed veteran presence in JJ Redick and Amir Johnson to boot.

Almost everyone loves an underdog story and the Sixers will be under national scrutiny when they finally parade their full lineup next season.
