Marquette Golden Eagles standout Markus Howard is one of the best and most electrifying college basketball players in the country. In turn, he's expected to be up for numerous individual awards for the upcoming 2019-20 campaign.

If he ask the nifty guard, though, as he was at Big East Conference media day, he much rather just win games rather than awards. Having been asked if not being the preseason Play of the Year, a season after being for real, Howard had his typical terrific response.

“Definitely does. Same thing happened last year,” Markus Howard said. “All I’m worried about is trying to make us the best we can be. When the team comes first, the individual stuff takes care of itself.”

Seton Hall Pirates stud Myles Powell as the one chosen as the preseason POY. For what it's worth, the Pirates were also voted as the top team in the league.

However, this is why they play the games.

Things can obviously break right for the Marquette Golden Eagles. With a talent as insanely gifted as Markus Howard on the roster, they'll have a chance to win every single game they play this coming college basketball season.
