Marvel's Avengers developer Crystal Dynamics was heavily inspired by the comics for Black Panther's in-game suits. The game initially received mixed reviews when it released in September of 2020. This was due to the game's ridiculous microtransactions and lack of endgame content. However, Crystal Dynamics has been trying to make up for it by continuing its support for Marvel's Avengers through the release of free updates and expansions.

Developer Crystal Dynamics recently revealed Black Panther's upcoming Marvel's Avengers outfits. Most of them are directly inspired by his iconic comic book appearances. The character's iconic suit which will be his main appearance in the game is a combination of classic and modern designs. The noir-style Most Dangerous Man Outfit, complete with a long coat, took inspiration from the comic character Kasper Cole who also took on the mantle at one point in the comics. The Damisa-Sarki Outfit based on the character's very first appearance in 1966. The Strategist Outfit derives directly from the 2010 comic storyline Black Panther: Man Without Fear.

The update is going to be the game's largest post-launch content yet. It pits king T'challa and his home nation of Wakanda against Klaw and his evil forces. War for Wakanda will add Black Panther as a new playable Avenger. He'll have his own gameplay style and cosmetic items. The legendary God of War voice actor Christopher Judge will voice King T'challa in the game.

Black Panther – War for Wakanda will be Marvel's Avengers‘ first major expansion. It is set to release this August 17, 2021 on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
