This summer has been a petri dish of NBA rumors. Players get their names linked to different teams more than the Kardashians get linked to professional athletes.

Adding more to the rumor mill is Matt Barnes, who made an appearance on ‘The Herd with Colin Cowherd' and brought with him some hot takes of his own with one centering around LeBron James‘ compatibility with the squad in Tinseltown. LakersNation.com has this choice quote from Barnes opposite Cowherd in the show.

“No better place. Yeah, no question. I think with him, he bought a big old house out in Brentwood. LA is the place to be. I heard he wants to be in management after and I think no better person in the game to help model and shape him than Magic Johnson.

James hasn't made any of his future plans divulged aside from reports stating his commitment to the Cavs. That, however, isn't enough to stop people from theorizing that James would leave Cleveland again once his current contract expires. James is expected to become a free agent next year.

The Los Angeles Lakers have a big salary cap space to accommodate whatever James' price tag would be following the team's dumping of the salaries of D'Angelo Russell and Timofey Mozgov to the Brooklyn Nets.
