Matthew Stafford may want out of Detroit after this season. As he enters his 13th year in 2021, he may have been through one too many coaching changes as part of the Lions organization.

Matt Dery, the host of the daily Locked On Lions podcast, was breaking down the ripple effect of the firing of the Detroit Lions head coach Matt Patricia. He then came across a tweet that is kind of hard to believe. It has been amazing to see Stafford play through so many coaching changes since getting drafted by the Lions. Dery also shares his thoughts stating that he believes Stafford will not be in Detroit next season simply because he thinks Stafford will want to leave and play somewhere else.

Dery: Jeff Riger from 97.1 The Ticket tweeted this out today. In regard to Matthew Stafford. I thought this was really really good with what Riger said. He wrote the following about Matthew Stafford. If Matthew Stafford is on the Lions next season, he will play for his third general manager, fourth head coach, fifth offensive coordinator, seventh quarterback coach, he’s going to now, after 12 years, going into year 13 next year, and I don’t actually think Matthew Stafford will be here next year because I think Matthew Stafford wants to leave, but he would play for his fourth head coach next year. Of course, Matthew Stafford got here with Jim Schwartz, Jim Caldwell, Matt Patricia, and now this next coach. But I do not think he’s going to be here.
