As free agency approaches in the NBA, many teams have already begun making moves to get their desired players. The Dallas Mavericks seem to be one of those teams not wasting time, as they are reported to already be talking to Miami Heat‘s Hassan Whiteside and Memphis Grizzlies‘ Mike Conley Jr.

Both these players expect to be rewarded a maximum salary, especially considering the raised $94 million salary cap. Conley surpassed Shareef Abdur-Rahim as the third highest career scorer for the Grizzlies while Whiteside had great performances in the 2016, averaging 14.2 points, 11.8 rebounds and 3.7 blocks during the regular season as well as making his debut in the postseason.

If the Mavs can lock down these two talented players, the likelihood of Dirk Nowitzki leaving is a lot less likely.
