Monday afternoon signaled big changes around the league.

One of those changes was for Warriors center Andrew Bogut. After agreeing to sign star free agent Kevin Durant, the Warriors needed to create cap room to make the deal work, and one of the contracts that needed to be moved was Bogut's.

They quickly found their suitor. The Warriors have agreed to trade Bogut to the Dallas Mavericks for a future second round pick. The deal will be completed on July 7th.

The Mavericks had to first clear enough cap room to absorb Bogut's, where he has one year left on his deal worth $11,027,027. He'll become an unrestricted free agent next summer.

Moving contracts and trading for Bogut also gives the Mavs room to complete their free agent offer sheet to Harrison Barnes, and come up with palatable numbers to re-sign Dirk Nowitzki.

Bogut, at 31 years old, was said to have been traded to a team that he preferred because the Warriors liked him, and they wanted to work with him to make the trade as stress-less as possible.

Bogut's career average boasts of 10.3 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game. Bogut's game is not all in the numbers, as he provides great passing out of the post, and solid rim protection.

If he can remain healthy, he can set himself up for a bigger pay day next summer when the salary cap rises again.
