Dallas Mavericks big man Boban Marjanovic didn't play a single minute in their home game against the Utah Jazz on Monday, but he arguably had the biggest assist of the night. The ball got stuck behind the backboard during the contest. Mavs star Kristaps Porzingis tried to save the day by attempting to poke the ball out with a broomstick. The 7-foot-3 Latvian tried several times, but failed to do so.

That's when his 7-foot-4 teammate, Boban Marjanovic came to the rescue. The Serbian big man, seeing Porzingis struggle to dislodge the ball, got up from his seat and took the broom from the Latvian. Lo and behold, Marjanovic was able to poke the ball free in his first and only attempt, which drew loud cheers from the Mavs crowd.

After the game, Marjanovic took to Twitter to poke some fun at Porzingis.

So, all KP needed was one more inch? The Big Friendly Giant got the job done alright.

Unfortunately, the Mavs were not able to take care of business against Utah, falling short, 123-119. Porzingis turned in a pretty solid performance with 28 points, five rebounds, and two blocks. He shot just 7-of-17 from the floor but did make 11-of-13 from the charity stripe.

Porzingis has played quite well since Luka Doncic went down with an ankle injury. In the five games he appeared in since Luka's absence (which includes an 11-point dud), Porzingis averaged 28.8 points and 10.0 rebounds, while shooting 48.8 percent from the field, 39.5 percent on nearly nine attempts from long distance, and 87.8 percent on nearly 10 attempts from the free-throw line.

As for Marjanovic, he hasn't seen much playing time with Dallas this season. He has only appeared in 27 games, while averaging just 9.3 minutes per contest.
