March Madness is a highly anticipated event in the country. For the Dallas Mavericks, however, the madness this coming March has a vastly-different meaning and is far from being anticipated. Rocked by an investigative report that pictured the organization as a “real-life animal house,” interim CEO Cynthia Marshall was hired.

Marshall served as AT&T’s chief diversity officer and vice president of human resources.

According to ESPN’s Tim McMahon, Marshall shared how she envisions the organization to respond to the crisis at hand.

“I really want to see us as a model of how to respond to this. This is going on all around the country. I want us to be a model.”

McMahon later tweeted what coach Rick Carlisle thought of Mavs owner Mark Cuban’s latest hire.

“She’s intolerant of any bullshit. That’s pretty clear.”

According to Mavs.com reporter Dwain Price, Marshall refers to this as her own version of the NCAA Tournament.

“I'm going to be meeting with every (Mavs) employee. I call it my own March Madness.”

Price also shared Marshall’s impression of Cuban who recruited her personally.

“We talked face to face for 52 minutes. He was so transparent and so honest.”

As for Price’s own impression of the new CEO, he has nothing but praise for Marshall after the press conference announcing her hiring.

“We all walked away extremely impressed with Cynthia “Cynt” Marshall, the new interim CEO of the [Mavs]. She was introduced to the media at a press conference today at American Airlines Center.”

Marshall will have her hands full in the coming months as she tries to resurrect the franchise from its current state and help Cuban regain the trust of the entire NBA and the entire nation as a whole.

Perhaps after this one big mess, she can also lend a piece of advice on the Mavs' other problem brought about by the tanking comments from Cuban.
