Luka Doncic is quickly making a name for himself on the Dallas Mavericks. Doncic is turning in a magnificent rookie season and is the clear front-runner for Rookie of the Year. ESPN analyst and former NBA great Chauncey Billups is a huge fan of Doncic.

On ESPN's “NBA Countdown,” Billups was asked about a few different players in comparison to Luka Doncic:

Billups was first asked to decide between Luka Doncic and Jayson Tatum:

“Luka. This is all right now. Luka, it's a guard's game. He can not only score, but he can pass and facilitate.”

Paul Pierce referenced Tatum's body of work in comparison to Doncic's, but Billups didn't want to hear it:

“Paul, you do understand that this guy is a rookie and he's played like six games. Of course, he has the body of work.”

The next choice was between Luka Doncic and Ben Simmons. Although he spoke highly of Simmons, Billups is still going with the 19-year-old:

“Luka. Why? Because Luka can score, and if it's the end of the game, I'd rather the ball in Luka's hand because he's clutch, he can make free throws, and he can also facilitate. Ben Simmons is a great player, but at the end of the game, he's in the dunker spot.”

Even Karl-Anthony Towns doesn't top Doncic for Billups:

“I'm taking Luka. I like a young, high basketball IQ guy that can affect passing and scoring, and he's clutch. He's 19.”

The championship-winning point guard stopped short of picking Luka Doncic over Joel Embiid. Regardless, Billups' infatuation with Doncic is widely known now.
