The Dallas Mavericks will look to find ways to improve the team this summer. They do not have enough cap space to sign one of the top-tier free agents, but they have enough money to sign multiple role players. According to reports, one of the players that the Mavs will look to go after this summer is Milwaukee Bucks' Malcolm Brogdon.

Brogdon, the winner of the 2017 Rookie of the Year award, averaged 15.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.2 assists last season. He played an important part in the Bucks' impressive run to the Eastern Conference Finals, and he will definitely be a suitable addition to the Mavs. He may even replace fan-favorite JJ Barea if he chooses to take his talents to Dallas.

Brogdon will definitely look for a long-term deal that pays around $10-15 million a year. The Mavs can offer him four years, $60 million next season. However, money won't be the biggest hindrance in Dallas' attempt to pursue the all-around guard.

The Bucks are expected to do everything in their power to make sure that they retain last season's core. They have already locked Eric Bledsoe to a four-year deal, and they plan to do the same with Khris Middleton and even Brogdon. The Mavericks already know where the three-year veteran's loyalty is, so they understand that Brogdon signing with the team is a long shot.

Will that stop Dallas from going after Brogdon? No. They will still try to make a run for him. They're just setting their expectations and will be prepared if he chooses to return to Milwaukee.
