7-foot-3 big Boban Marjanovic found a new home this summer with the Dallas Mavericks. It appears that his new team is already loving the presence of the NBA journeyman, with no less than head coach Rick Carlisle having nothing but good things to say about their new recruit.

“Since he walked through the door six days ago…he’s been a huge breath of fresh air,” said Carlisle, via Kirk Henderson of SB Nation.

Coach Carlisle went on to say that despite Marjanovic not having played a single minute of action for the Mavs just yet, Carlisle believes that the big man will have a tremendous positive impact on the entire squad moving forward.

“He’s come in smiling and hugging everyone. He said ‘I land in Dallas and this just feels like a great place, I love it here already.’ That’s a winner,” Carlisle said. “Those kinda guys, you can’t get enough of those kind of guys.”

Boban arrived in Dallas this offseason via free agency, putting pen to paper on a two-year, $7 million deal with the Mavs. In truth, the 31-year-old veteran is by no means a big-name signing for the Mavericks, and he is not exactly expected to make waves for the team.

Much like he has in the past, Boban should probably see less than 15 minutes of action per ballgame with his new team. Marjanovic is no game-changer on the floor, but he does provide a boost for the team whenever his number is called. More importantly, as Carlisle said, it is his attitude off the floor that makes his such an important member of the locker room.
