While DeAndre Jordan has reportedly reached a verbal agreement to sign with the Dallas Mavericks over the last weekend, we all know better (most especially Mavs fans, who remember the events of July 2015 all too well) and that we should probably take this announcement with a grain of salt.
Fast forward almost a week later with the moratorium lifted and free agents are allowed to sign on the dotted line, Jordan finally puts the doubts to rest and is officially a Maverick for at least a year, according to the New York Times' Marc Stein.

Also, the move ends the 6-foot-11 center's 10-year stay with the L.A. Clippers in which he currently holds the franchise record for games played (75o), owing to his durability and tenure, as well as the league's best career field goal percentage by a comfortable margin at 67 percent. He was also a two-time All-Defensive Team and three-time All-NBA Team member. By all accounts, Jordan is a Clippers legend and could probably see his jersey retired in the distant future.
Jordan, in a humbling farewell to the city of Los Angeles and the Clippers franchise, posted his goodbye and well wishes on Instagram.

The Houston native now welcomes the next chapter of his career as a long-delayed member of the Mavericks. Jordan slots in perfectly on the vacant center position that's been manned of late by the aging Dirk Nowitzki who now expects to see more time in his natural position of power forward now with a dependable center in tow.
