Delon Wright of the Dallas Mavericks is eligible to receive a championship ring but he feels no personal connection to the Toronto Raptors' 2018-2019 title run.

Wright was the 20th overall pick by the Raptors in 2015. He played with them up until February 2019 as he was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies as part of a package in exchange for Marc Gasol. Since he played 49 regular-season games for the Raptors in their championship year, as well as being a reliable player over the past three and a half seasons, the team is considering to give him a ring. Wright, however, doesn't feel any personal connection to their campaign.

“Personally no,” he told Eddie Sefko of mavs.com Tuesday. “But the fans are still saying I should get a ring and they still support me in everything and on Instagram. Every day, fans are messaging me saying how much they miss me.”

It's an interesting little tidbit. It is the dream of any player to win a championship. However, for Wright, as well as many other players, it is important that they're actually a key part of the title run. They want to feel that they actually worked hard for it and actually played in the games that directly led to the title.

Now, Wright will continue his NBA journey with the up and coming Mavericks squad. Together with the likes of Luka Doncic, Kristaps Porzigis, and others, Wright has an opportunity to be part of something special.
