Mavs legend Dirk Nowitzki has had a very successful and illustrious NBA career. He has won most of the awards the league has to offer and is a shoo-in for the Hall of Fame once he hangs his sneakers for good. On Wednesday night, he added another feat to his already long list of achievements.

During the 7:58 mark in the second quarter of the game between the Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder, the German international knocked down a fadeaway jumper. However, it wasn't just any ordinary one, as it made him just the sixth player in NBA history to reach 31,000 in his career.

Despite being 39 years old now, Nowitzki is still not showing any signs of slowing down anytime soon. That said, he can further move up the all-time scoring list if he continues to play at a high level, and even surpass Wilt Chamberlain for fifth place, if he scores 420 more points, according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN.

Just last season, Nowitzki made history by becoming just the sixth player in league history to reach the 30,000 point mark. It only goes to show how he has excelled throughout his NBA career, and establishing himself as one of the best scorers the game has ever seen.

Dirk Nowitzki was named an MVP, 13-time All-Star, and a champion, among all the honors and awards he has had, and with his scoring total, will undoubtedly further cement his place as an all-time great and legend of the league. The only thing that's left unanswered when it comes to the scoring list is how high the Mavs big man will end up on it as it will depend on the number of games and points he'll still score in his career.
