Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks may be a bit inconsistent this 2021-22, but for Mavs legend Dirk Nowitzki, that's what makes them even more dangerous.

Speaking to the media ahead of his jersey retirement on Wednesday, Nowitzki issued a strong reminder about the current Mavs team and why the rest of the NBA should be wary. The German icon shared how everyone has yet to see the best from the Dallas franchise.

“I don’t think we’ve seen how good this team can be,” Nowitzki said, per Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News.

The Mavs are currently 19-18 on the season, good for sixth in the Western Conference. However, it was not too long ago when they were below .500 and looking like about to collapse. Injuries and the COVID-19 health and safety protocols have prevented them from finding stability, though they are hardly alone in that regard.

Nonetheless, with Luka Doncic showing his usual MVP-caliber performance night in and night out, and Kristaps Porzingis thriving in his increased role under head coach Jason Kidd, there is no doubt the Mavs have a lot more to show.

As Dirk Nowitzki said it, the Mavs have yet to reach their peak. If they are able to stay healthy and their no. 1 and 2 keep playing together, it won't be long until we see the full potential of this current Dallas roster.
