Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki is all set to make his season debut against the Phoenix Suns.

Per Eddie Sefko, Nowitzki will officially enter his 21st season in the league. Per head coach Rick Carlisle, the 41-year-old will play limited minutes.

To recall, Dirk Nowitzki underwent surgery earlier in the year on his left ankle which led to a long road to recovery and has caused him to miss the first 26 games of the season. Here's a clip of the former MVP putting up some shots before the game:

The Mavericks will enter the game with a three-game winning streak. They currently sport a 15-11 record and have won eight of the last 10 games. They have managed to turn their season around after a 3-8 start.

Apart from his season debut, it will also be his first time playing with rookie phenom Luka Doncic. Back when he was sidelined, Nowitzki was seen casually handing out pieces of advice to the 19-year-old. Now, the two have a chance to play together on court. Though Dirk Nowitzki won't be playing heavy minutes, it would still be a treat to see the two co-exist. Mavs fans have to be absolutely thrilled to know they get to see their guy in action again.
