On the eve of the biggest game of his NBA career, Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic is making waves in the news for his early days at Real Madrid.

Training footage of Doncic back from his Real Madrid Baloncesto days is trending on Twitter.

The teenage Doncic showed off his elite handle and athleticism with his dunking. The Mavs star then turned to the camera in the footage and with a smile from cheek to cheek, proudly proclaimed, “Hala Madrid!”

Luka joined Real Madrid as a 13-year-old, playing six years overall for the Baloncesto until 2018 when he declared for the NBA Draft.

In his three years with the youth academy, Doncic won the 2015 Junior EuroLeague while earning MVP honors as well.

Overall, Luka played in a total of 216 games between the senior team and youth academy for Real Madrid before being the Mavs' third overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.

Doncic also owns the prestigious honor of being the youngest Real Madrid player to ever make his debut with the basketball club.

Real Madrid won three Liga ACB championships with Doncic along with two Copa Del Rey titles.

Of all of Luka's achievements in Spain, leading Real Madrid to the 2017-18 EuroLeague in Belgrade may just top the list. Luka topped off winning the EuroLeague title by, not surprisingly, winning the MVP award as well.

Doncic also won the MVP of the Final Four in the competition.

Whether it be for Real Madrid or the Mavs, Luka Doncic has always been a star.
