Rachel Nichols on ESPN’s The Jump reported on Sunday night per Adrian Wojanrowski that the Dallas Mavs were acquiring point guard Goran Dragic as part of a now-three-team deal with the Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers in the sign-and-trade for Jimmy Butler.

The Sixers are signing and trading All-Star free agent wing Butler to the Heat in exchange for four-year wing Josh Richardson.

However, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania, Dragic actually isn't part of the trade:

Instead, Dallas receives Kelly Olynyk and Derrick Jones in the deal:

Dragic is an 11-year NBA veteran who’s played in Miami the last five-odd years, earning a single All-Star Game berth in his Heat tenure. He won the NBA’s Most Improved Player in the 2013-14 season.

Butler is also a former MIP winner.Dragic had stints in Phoenix (twice) and with the Houston Rockets before landing in South Beach as part of another three-team trade with the New Orleans Pelicans, which sent Danny Granger from Miami to Phoenix.

Dragic has averaged 13.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 4.8 assists a game in 758 career contests and 28 minutes per game. The southpaw has shot 46.6 percent from the field, 36.3 percent from deep, and 76.2 percent from the free throw line.

He’s set to earn north of $18 million next season and the Slovenian expat is due approximately $37 million over the remaining two years of his contract. Dallas has cap room to work with, but with the max contract thrown at Kristaps Porzingis, the Mavericks have little to work with to improve the team around Porzingis and reigning Rookie of the Year Luka Doncic.
