The Dallas Mavericks successfully defended their homecourt in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals. They came out and lit up the Golden State Warriors to stave off elimination in the 2022 NBA playoffs. Even though the Warriors made it close near the end of the game, the Mavs took the 119-109 victory.

Jalen Brunson played a key part in the Mavs' win. His 15 points and five assists on 5-12 shooting helped Dallas go up by as much as 29 points. He spoke to the Inside the NBA crew after the big win and received an interesting question from Charles Barkley, who asked him after the game if he had become a better player than his father. He responded incredulously to the question.

Although the response was pretty savage, it isn't completely wrong. Jalen's father, Rick Brunson, played for nine seasons in the NBA with eight different teams. The 6-foot-4 point guard averaged 3.2 points and 2.6 assists per game across 337 career games, only averaging a double-digit amount of minutes per game in four seasons.

It's safe to say that Brunson is well on his way to having a better career than his father. In sixty fewer games, he has scored over three times as many points with much better efficiency. The Mavs' youngster also has more assists, rebounds and free-throw attempts/makes. After a career season, he will look to build on that disparity and keep helping Dallas win.

The Mavs' journey to coming back in the conference finals has only begun. They will now have to head back to the Bay Area and defeat the Warriors yet again.
