The Dallas Mavericks will be entering the new season with one of the most intriguing dynamic duos in the league in Kristaps Porzingis and Luka Doncic. It is not only the Mavs faithful who are excited about this prospect, but the same can also be said of the entire team.

For his part, incoming sophomore point guard Jalen Brunson has already coined a new nickname for reigning Rookie of the Year winner Luka Doncic, as the latter enters a new role playing alongside Porzingis this term.

“KP is the Unicorn, we should call Luka my little pony,” said Brunson, via Sportinfo.si.

That's actually a pretty hilarious notion from Brunson, who appears to be a fan of the popular children's cartoon which actually dates back all the way to the 1980's.

All jokes aside, though, this pairing should definitely be quite a formidable one for years to come. Porzingis appears to have put his knee injury completely behind him, with recent reports stating that the All-Star big man is now 100% percent healthy.

This is tremendous news for the Mavs, who had to be very patient with their prized star, as he seems all but set to make his highly-anticipated debut for his new team.

As for Doncic, many expect the 20-year-old to make further strides in his sophomore year, following what was nothing short of an historic rookie campaign.

The 6-foot-7 guard should only get better playing alongside an All-Star caliber big in Porzingis, and if all goes according to plan, this duo should be making a lot of noise in the 2019-20 season.
