Dallas Mavericks guard Jalen Brunson had a little fun at the expense of Mavs teammate Luka Doncic and team icon Dirk Nowitzki.

In a Twitter Q&A, Brunson claimed that a race between the star rookie and now retired Mavs legend would be close enough to require a photo finish.

While Doncic isn't known for his athleticism, the 41-year-old Nowitzki could barely move up and down the court last season. It'd be questionable if Nowitzki could even finish the race, much less close enough to require a photo finish.

While he might dust him in any sort of running competition, Doncic could still learn a lot from the German legend. Nowitzki will go down as one of the best European players in history, and the young Slovenian would be more than happy to have a career as successful as the forward.

For now, Brunson and Doncic are focused on taking the Mavs to new heights with their new generation of European talent. Besides Doncic, Dallas acquired star Latvian center Kristaps Porzingis.

All eyes will be on Dallas next season, not only to see how Porzingis comes back from a devastating injury but also to determine how much Doncic grows and develops. If both develop successfully, the Mavs will make the Western Conference even more competitive than it is already.
