The Dallas Mavericks managed to avoid the clean sweep on Tuesday night. But the road back into the series is still one far beyond reach at this point.

But rather than worry about the result and where it puts them in the context of the seven-game series, Jason Kidd just wants the Mavs to appreciate how far they've come.

“It’s not just about one game. It’s about the journey. It’s about bouncing back,” Kidd said after the Mavs win.

A gentleman's sweep looks likely for the Dallas, but the team is far from ready to accept that reality just yet.

“I still believe we can win, you know. Swept or not swept, in the end, if you lose you lose. Don't matter how many we win. We have to go game by game. We going to believe until the end,” said the Mavs star.

But Jason Kidd isn't making any bold declarations just yet. He seems content to revel in the moment and take the wins, literal or intangible, as they come.

“The biggest compliment we've gotten is that they gotta play zone because they can't play us one-on-one. This is a championship DNA team and they're giving you a compliment that they can't guard you. It's pretty cool,” Kidd continued.

The Mavs are still alive in the series and are playing with house money at this point. Jason Kidd is content with their winnings, but the team still has aspirations of toppling the house, no matter how impossible it may seem.
