For veteran guard J.J. Barea, the Dallas Mavericks' Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis could be NBA's premiere duo if they mesh well and do it right. Per Dwain Price of mavs.com, Barea believes that the key for the duo to work well is if they help each other out.

When Porzingis was sent by the New York Knicks to the Mavs via trade, shockwaves were felt all over the league. Not only was it mostly for salary-clearing purposes, but the haul was also just Dennis Smith Jr. and a pair of future first-round picks. During that time, Doncic was already the team's prized rookie. At just 19-years-old, the Slovenian had already proved that the sky is the limit for him. And the Mavs were wise enough to think of how to surround their new-found star with the proper pieces, signing some shooters and secondary ball handlers during the summer.

In the 2019-20 season and in the years to come, the league will have their hands full in trying to contain Porzingis' ability to shoot from deep coupled with his 7-foot-3 frame. Doncic, too, is expected to rise to the top as one of the league's elites. Both of their powers combined, then we may see contender on the rise in Texas.
