Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic has been turning heads due to his recent performances. It has garnered the attention of ex-NBA players-turned analysts Kendrick Perkins and Caron Butler, who argued who is better between the Mavs youngster and NBA icon Magic Johnson.

Butler detailed Johnson's accomplishments when he was just 20-years-old. However, while Luka is on his way to stardom, the former NBA forward said he can't put the Slovenian past Magic at age 20.

Perkins, meanwhile, rebutted and noted that he hasn't seen this type of supremacy since LeBron James.

In the young 2019-20 season, Doncic has been inserted into the MVP discussion. It's not just because he's putting up great individual statistics which has been breaking and setting all types of records, as his numbers are also helping the Mavs pile up victory after victory.

Against the Houston Rockets on Sunday, Doncic dropped 41 points, six rebounds and 10 assists. More importantly, they got the win to extend their streak to five games.

Johnson himself recently put out his top 16 MVP candidates. He placed Doncic in second place with Giannis Antetokounmpo, behind LeBron James.

When Johnson — one of the greatest sports figures of all-time — includes you in a star-studded list, then you must be doing something right. Almost all are in agreement that Doncic is the brightest shining star in the NBA today.
