For the first time since being traded to the Dallas Mavericks, Kristaps Porzingis will play in Madison Square Garden.

Ahead of Thursday's duel with his former team, the New York Knicks, Porzingis shared his thoughts on the matter and admitted that it'll be ‘weird' to be in the visitors' locker.

“A lot of excitement, a lot of memories and a lot of good memories mostly. It’s going to be weird (entering Madison Square Garden), at the same time,” Porzingis said, per Mavs reporter Dwain Price.

“It’s my first time being in the visitor’s locker room, and it’s going to be different, but I’m looking forward to it. It’s a weird thing. It’s a good feeling to be back here.”

To recall, Kristaps Porzingis requested a trade in January. Various rumors revealed that Porzingis wasn't exactly pleased with the direction that the team is going, as well as the front office.

There was even a rumor that Porzingis was a hundred percent healthy and was itching to play but the Knicks prevented him from doing so, for fear that he might suffer an injury once again.

Now, Porzingis is past the dramatic episode with the Knicks — the team which drafted him and saw his potential. When a player faces his former team, he almost always does something special. And we can expect the Mavs star to turn it up a notch against the Knickerbockers on Thursday.
