With just 15 games to go before the regular season ends, what the Dallas Mavericks don't need at this point in time is another injury. Unfortunately, that's exactly what they got on Thursday when starting big man Kristaps Porzingis rolled his ankle in the third quarter when the Mavs hosted the Los Angeles Lakers.

Porzingis was going for the offensive board and seemed to have landed awkwardly after the softest of bumps from Andre Drummond. The 7'3″ Latvian landed on his left ankle and was left grimacing in pain.

According to Tim MacMahon of ESPN, Porzingis limped to the bench right during the next time out and eventually went straight to the locker room. This is definitely not great news for Dallas Mavericks fans.

It was definitely not KP's night. Prior to this play, Porzingis also took a knee under the belt from Drummond. The entire city is hoping that this most recent injury scare is nothing serious as they need every centimeter of their big man out there.

After sitting out the entire 2018-2019 season due to an ACL injury, Porzingis was finally healthy and debuted for the Mavs last season. Unluckily, Porzingis couldn't again finish the entire 2019-20 after he re-injured his knee in the Bubble which cut his first playoff appearance short.

This season, Porzingis slowly got back on track and the Mavs were pretty cautious with him all season long. Thursday's nasty ankle roll is now the latest unfortunate incident to add to KP's resume.

Prayers up for Kristaps.
