Dallas Mavericks big man Kristaps Porzingis finished with 11 points, five rebounds and three assists in his second preseason appearance in a loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night, but the Mavs star made just two of his nine three-point attempts.

So, was Porzingis worried about his lack of efficiency from downtown? Not at all:

“Naw, I didn’t rush it at all,” Porzingis said, according to Dwain Price of Mavs.com. “Of those nine shots, three of them or four of them, I let it go and I’m already stepping back like, ‘Oh it’s good.’ And I can feel it’s good. And everything was short, but it was right on. Maybe a little more legs. I’ll look at the film. I’m not worried about that one bit.”

Of course, Porzingis played in what was his first actual game in a year-and-a-half on Wednesday, totaling 18 points and seven rebounds in his Dallas preseason debut during a loss to the Detroit Pistons, so it's understandable that the Latvian still needs to get his feet wet.

Prior to that, Porzingis last appeared in an NBA game with the New York Knicks in February 2018, when he suffered a torn ACL.

The Knicks then proceeded to trade Porzingis to the Mavs midway through the 2018-19 campaign, but the Mavericks elected to sit Porzingis out for the remainder of the season.

Now that he is fully recovered from the injury, big things are expected from the 24-year-old. Porzingis owns career averages of 17.8 points, 7.1 rebounds and two blocks in over 31 minutes per game.
