Dallas Mavericks forward Kristaps Porzingis is probable to play against the Phoenix Suns on Friday due to right knee soreness.

Mavs head coach Rick Carlisle shared the news after their practice on Wednesday — a session that Porzingis missed.

The Mavs have been cautious about Porzingis' health, and for very good reasons. He's seen as a key piece to their quest for another title, and given his injury history, Dallas simply can't take their chances.

The good thing though is that Porzingis' sore knee is not the same one that he tore his ACL in. With that said, fans should expect him to be back in action very soon, even if he misses the Mavs' duel against the Suns in Arizona.

Dallas is looking to start another winning streak. Their five-game streak — which included big wins over the Toronto Raptors and the Houston Rockets — was broken by the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday.

They currently sport an 11-6 record for fifth place in the West. Before the season began, Carlisle shared that the feasible goal this year is to make the playoffs. From there, they'll figure out what other things they need to do in order to beef up their roster and bolster their chances of becoming a title contender.

Mavs fans should expect Porizingis to be part of that process every step of the way.
