Dallas Mavericks star Kristaps Porzingis underwent surgery to address a lateral meniscus tear in his right knee which he suffered during the 2020 playoffs. The surgery was performed last October.

Porzingis, who is usually pretty quiet on social media, recently provided an update on his surgically repaired right knee, via Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News.

ESPN's Tim MacMahon reported back in October that the Mavs are optimistic Kristaps Porzingis will be able to participate in the team's 2020-21 training camp.

In his first season with the Mavs after beginning his career with the New York Knicks, Porzingis averaged 20.4 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game during the regular season. He shot 42.7 percent from the field, 35.2 percent from beyond the arc and 79.9 percent from the free-throw line.

Porzingis suffered his knee injury during the Mavs' Game 1 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round of the 2020 playoffs. He played in the next two games before the soreness and pain in his knee forced him to sit out the remainder of the series.

The Mavs lost to the Clippers in six games. Many pundits believe the team may have been able to upset the Clippers had Porzingis not gotten hurt.

Dallas, though, has a really bright future with Luka Doncic and Porzingis leading the way.

Moving forward, Mavs owner Mark Cuban and his group of associates in the front office have to get one more All-Star next to Luka and KP for Dallas to seriously contend for a championship.
