In their preseason duel against the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday, Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic unveiled his best Dirk Nowitzki impression with his own one-legged fadeaway. While the shot went in, the Mavs youngster wasn't necessarily too impressed.

On Twitter, Doncic described his Nowitzki-esque one-legged fadeaway jumper against the Bucks, suggesting that he wanted his impression to be a little cleaner and perhaps quicker. However, the shot went it and that's all that matters.

As expected, diehard Mavs fans shared their thoughts on Doncic's one-legged fadeaway. A fan claimed that no one can do it like the German, echoing the thoughts of many others.

Another Mavs fan didn't see any similarities at all.

Meanwhile, a fan was willing to accept the one-legged fadeaway in Doncic's arsenal.

It's hard to tell if Luka Doncic was actually imitating Dirk Nowitzki's signature move. After all, the German usually does it from the post and not in traffic like what Doncic did.

However, do note that Doncic and Nowitzki were teammates for one season. So who knows what Doncic learned from big Dirk?

Whether it's a perfect impression or not, the fact of the matter is that Doncic is now regarded as the new face of the Mavs franchise. Fans and analysts are almost in agreement with one another. They all believe that Doncic is the next big star in the NBA.

Last season was a big step for the Mavs franchise in the Doncic era as they qualified for the playoffs. This season, if all goes well, then Doncic might guide his team to a deeper run.
