Dallas Mavericks sophomore sensation Luka Doncic has emerged as one of the top vote-getters in this season's edition of the All-Star game. As of writing, the Mavs star is a close second to Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James for the most number of votes for both the East and the West.

Recently, Doncic opened up about the possibility of eventually beating out James on the ballots. While the 20-year-old admitted that it would be an amazing individual achievement for him, the Mavs guard also believes that LeBron will still end up at the very top.

Doncic has been out of this world throughout the season thus far, with the reigning Rookie of the Year currently putting up averages of 28.9 points (on 46.7 percent shooting), 9.7 rebounds, 9.0 assists, and 1.1 steals, while also connecting on 3.0 triples per game. Not only are those All-Star worthy numbers, but Doncic's amazing performances have forced his name into the MVP conversation — and rightfully so.

Then again, this is LeBron James we're talking about here. The three-time NBA champ has worked extremely hard for his legacy, and his worldwide popularity is not something that can be toppled that easily. At this point, it looks like King James will retain his crown as the All-Star's top vote-getter, but it would not be surprising if this title is passed on to Doncic sooner rather than later.

From a neutral perspective, though, we're just hoping we get to see these two play together on the same team during the upcoming All-Star game. Now wouldn't that be a sight to behold.
