Dallas Mavericks rookie Luka Doncic had an opportunity to win the game against the Minnesota Timberwolves after unleashing an ankle-breaking step back. However, once he noticed that the defense collapsed on him, he passed it to a wide-open Jalen Brunson who, unfortunately, missed the game-winner.

After the game, Doncic expressed zero regrets in passing up the jumper and emphasized his trust on his fellow Mavs rookie.

“He was open, I have my trust in him. I would do it again, always. It was a great shot but it didn’t go in. Next time it will go in for sure,” Doncic said, per Brice Paterik of Mavs Moneyball.

Below is the last play which displays how much respect the Timberwolves have for Doncic's outside game. Doncic showed that he is comfortable even in late-game situations. With the clock close to expiring, he still had the presence of mind to look for the best shot. And in the final play of the game, it was Brunson who was wide open.

Perhaps the best part was when Luka Doncic quickly went to Jalen Brunson to remind him not to worry about the missed game-winner.

Certainly, Doncic, 20-years-old, is one gifted basketball player who's wise beyond his years. One can only imagine what he can do for the Mavs once he reaches his prime.
