Dallas Mavericks rookie forward Luka Doncic has been fined $10,000 for kicking a basketball into the stands during Saturday night's 111-99 loss to the Indiana Pacers, according to ESPN's Tim MacMahon.

This is Doncic's first-ever fine at the NBA level, and one he'll surely learn from after he was ejected for the first time in his short career. The front-runner for Rookie of the Year had been pestered by Pacers defenders all game long and had voiced his frustration with an official right before halftime, earning his first technical foul of the game.

A disappointing stretch in the third quarter forced coach Rick Carlisle to call timeout, as Doncic juggled the ball with his feet and kicked it into the stands, earning his second technical and consequent ejection.

The 19-year-old found out of his ejection shortly after the fact and was disappointed to exit the game in such way after shooting only 3-for-14 from the floor against a scrappy Pacers defensive unit.

The Mavericks have now lost four games in a row and could be in danger of missing out in the postseason if they don't turn it around in the near future. For that they will need Doncic on the floor, who hopes to avoid these types of mishaps after getting his first taste of an NBA fine.
