One of Dallas Mavericks rookie swingman Luka Doncic's nicknames is “Wonder Boy,” but Saturday night against the Indiana Pacers, the Mavs first-year player was anything but that.

Doncic already had one technical before he kicked the basketball out of bounds. That soccer style kick got Doncic his first career ejection in the NBA:

Not sure what Luka Doncic was thinking here. He has to be smarter than that. Kicking the ball is one thing, but kicking it when you already have one technical is just asking to get ejected, and that's exactly what happened.

Luka Doncic finished with eight points, five rebounds and six assists in 24 minutes for the Mavs against the Pacers. The 19-year-old shot only 3-of-14 from the field, 0-of-5 from beyond the arc and 2-of-4 from the free-throw line.

Doncic's struggles on the court likely led to him punting the basketball. These type of nights are going to happen over the course of an 82-game season. Doncic has to learn how to keep his composure and play through his struggles.

The Mavs wound up losing to the Pacers by a final score of 111-99. Dallas is now 20-24 on the year and 4-18 on the road. Despite the rough night, Doncic is still the front runner for the Rookie of the Year award. He entered Saturday averaging 20.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game.
