Dallas Mavericks selection Luka Doncic is one of the biggest names at the NBA Draft, but his mom might be stealing some of his shine. The Mavs rookie's mother, Mirjam Poterbin, is a former model got to watch her son achieve his dreams of being drafted into the NBA.

The cameras focused on Doncic when his name was called, and Poterbin turned some heads as well. The Slovenian 19-year-old is seen as a “can't miss” prospect and the “can't miss” potential must run in the family.
Doncic has begun his NBA journey on Thursday night and now a member of the Mavs, he's sure to have extremely high expectations. He's fresh off the 2018 ACB Championship in which his team, Real Madrid brought home the title.
So within two days, Doncic has won a championship and got drafted high in the first round of the NBA Draft. Not a bad week for the kid. He's going to make a lot of Slovenians proud, including his mother.
Luka's father Sasa was a professional basketball player in Slovenia, Serbia, and France. Sasa would later go on to become a coach. So it's pretty clear that Doncic has some pretty good genes and the right pedigree to succeed in the NBA.
While Mavs fans will be looking up Doncic's stats for Real Madrid now, some are sure to do a double take on the mesmerizing view in their table at the NBA Draft.
