Dallas Mavericks budding star Luka Doncic is very excited to play with Mavs power forward Kristaps Porzingis next season.

Porzingis missed the entire 2018-19 season rehabbing his ACL injury, but is 100 percent now and will make his Mavs debut in 2019-20.

Doncic, who won the 2019 Rookie of the Year award, is looking forward to seeing how dominant he and Porzingis can be together.

“Yeah, I hope we can do a lot of damage,” Doncic told Mavs.com. “We’re two young kids and we want to just play. We’ve got a lot of great teammates – they’re going to help us. Dirk (Nowitzki is) going to stick around and help us for sure, so we know it’s going to be great.”

The last time we saw Kristaps Porzingis, he was averaging 22.7 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.4 blocks with the New York Knicks while shooting 43.9 percent from the field and 39.5 percent from beyond the arc. KP has career averages of 17.8 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists.

The Mavs gave Porzingis a lucrative five-year, $158.25 million deal this summer. For Dallas to make the postseason next year, it will need Porzingis and Luka Doncic to play at an All-Star level every night, especially since the Western Conference is so tough.

Doncic averaged 21.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 6.0 assists as a rookie last season. He recorded 24 double-doubles, eight triple-doubles, led all rookies in points per game and was second in assists per game.
