There's no question that Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic has established himself as one of the best players in the NBA today. He has also caught the eye of some legends and players in the past.

The latest former player to sing praises towards the Slovenian Sensation is former Mavs guard Derek Harper, who recently joined JaM Session with Jean-Jacques Taylor and Matt McClearin on ESPN Dallas 103.3.

On the show, Harper claimed that Luka Doncic “is right in the same breath” with Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson.

“I’ve played against Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson … Luka is right in the same breath. I know people think your crazy. He’s right there with the best players ever to play, bar none, in my opinion.

Those are crazy high standards that Harper placed the sophomore superstar Doncic on. Obviously, Magic and MJ are two of the best to ever play the game. Heck, they are probably on the NBA's Mount Rushmore.

The player turned commentator pointed out Doncic's incredible court vision, high basketball IQ, and unselfishness as the attributes and traits that make him so special, similar to the likes of some of the best floor generals in NBA history.

“Magic [Johnson] had it, all of the great ones, John Stockton. They have that, ‘I’m going to drive, drive, drive’ and know exactly where everybody is on the floor and get the ball to the right person at the right time. … He is so unselfish and so aware of what’s taking place.”

Doncic, who recently became an All-Star starter this weekend, is leading the 28-16 Mavericks to what could be their first postseason appearance since 2016. Through the first half of the season, the 20-year old is averaging 29.1 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 9.0 assists for the Mavericks.
