Heads up to all the sneakerheads and Dallas Mavericks fans out there: we have just been given an official release date for the highly-anticipated first-ever Luka Doncic signature Jordan Brand shoe. Surprisingly, it's set to drop sooner than initially expected. This is via Matt Galatzan of SI.

The shoe, which is called the Doncic's Air Jordan 1 Mid: Mindfulness, is an Air Jordan 1 Mid-top, and is set to be released this Thursday at 9 am CT on Nike.com, Footlocker.com, and at House of Hoops Footlocker, per a release from Nike.com news.

To be clear, the Mavs star is not getting his own personal shoe line just yet. This is more of a beefed-up and more marketable Player Edition. Doncic has been amazing to start his NBA career, but not yet good enough to earn his own shoe line. That should be coming in the next few years.

How good might you ask? For starters, he ran away with the Rookie of the Year award last season after making a tremendous impact for the Mavs and the entire league in his debut season. Now in his sophomore year, Doncic was averaging 28.7 points (on 46.1 percent shooting), 8.5 rebounds, 7.1 assists, and 1.1 steals, while connecting on 2.9 triples per contest, prior to the hiatus. He's been so good that there have been some MVP-type whispers going around.

Doncic also willed the Mavs to a 40-27 record, which is good for seventh in a ruthless Western Conference.

Based on what we've seen from him thus far, it's safe to assume that there's much more where that came from.
