Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic has taken the NBA world by storm since entering the league in the 2018-19 season. The new Mavs franchise player won the 2019 Rookie of the Year Award in grand fashion and was in the MVP conversation this 2019-20 before games were suspended in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Aside from his obvious talent, however, Mavs owner Mark Cuban says what has really impressed him about Luka is his “joy” for basketball.

“How much fun he has playing the game. That he truly enjoys every minute on the court and that joy is contagious,” Mark Cuban said about Luka Doncic in an interview with Steve Serby of the New York Post.

“He is obviously skilled, but he has the ability to make everyone on the court with him better.”

Before the season was suspended following Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert's positive COVID-19 test, Doncic was averaging 28.7 points, 9.3 rebounds and 8.7 assists per game for the Mavs. The Slovenian wonder boy was shooting 46.1 percent from the field, 31.8 percent from beyond the arc and 75.2 percent from the free-throw line.

For what it's worth, Doncic has already racked up 34 double-doubles and 14 triple-doubles in 54 games.

The Mavs are in seventh place in the Western Conference standings. Fortunately, the team has already clinched a playoff spot and won't have to fight with the New Orleans Pelicans, Phoenix Suns, Memphis Grizzlies, San Antonio Spurs, Sacramento Kings and Portland Trail Blazers for the final playoff spot in the West.

The Mavs franchise hasn’t had postseason success since winning the title in 2011 over the Miami Heat. Dallas hasn’t won a single playoff series since that year.

With that said, let's see if Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis can lead the Mavs on a spirited run in Orlando once the “bubble” games start on July 30.
