Dallas Mavericks rookie phenom Luka Doncic will play against the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday, according to Mavs head coach Rick Carlisle.

Doncic suffered a strained left knee on Sunday versus the Houston Rockets, but injury isn't serious enough to keep the 20-year-old out of the lineup.

Doncic finished with 19 points, 15 rebounds and nine assists against the Rockets. The Mavs lost by one point.

In 62 games this season, Luka Doncic is averaging 21.1 points, 7.4 rebounds and 5.6 assists per contest. He's shooting 43.2 percent from the field, 34.6 percent from beyond the arc and 72.0 percent from the free-throw line.

Doncic has 17 double-doubles and four triple-doubles on the season. He remains the favorite to win the 2019 Rookie of the Year award.

The Mavs enter Tuesday with a record of 27-39, putting them at the 14th spot in the Western Conference standings. If Doncic's knee was really bothering him, Dallas wouldn't have let him play on Tuesday. This kid is the next franchise cornerstone for the team, along with Kristaps Porzingis.

Since day one of the season, Luka Doncic has been putting up a show. He's been proving critics wrong left and right with his stellar play.

Dallas' future is in good hands with Luka leading the way.
